These PV systems are mounted on the roofs of 125 parking spaces and cover an area of 1,741 square meter. In this way, the existing parking space is used sensibly to generate green energy without sealing additional areas. The measure follows the approach of the entire Niedax Group to minimize its own CO₂ footprint.
At the ceremonial opening of the plant, Alexander Horn (Managing Director Technology and shareholder of the Niedax Group) emphasized the environmental responsibility of the Niedax Group and underlined the group's involvement in the local economic and social activities of Niedax France. Fabrice Boudas, General Director of Niedax France, emphasized the importance of the company's presence in Béthune in order to actively strengthen relations with the local economy and institutions.
The inauguration of the new PV system was also welcomed by local politicians, who emphasized the importance of Niedax France for the economic growth of the region and its role as an employer. Also present were Grégoire Morineaux, Director of Strategy and Purchasing at Rexel France, and Geoffrey Nowak, President of Lumys, who supported the Niedax project as partners. All parties also emphasized the shared values on which the Niedax project is based: Innovation and sustainability from the region for the region.
