In Rahms, Niedax will establish a new technology campus. This will be the future hub for infrastructure-related construction projects (expansion of the fiberglass network, digital rail transport and data centers in Germany and Europe). In this context, Niedax Infrastruktur GmbH was founded as a new company at the beginning of 2025.
Bruno Reufels, CEO Niedax Group, says:
“This year, we are focusing on expanding our product portfolio in the area of the digitalization of infrastructure. We have created the basis for this by founding the new company and opening the new site. We are confident that this significant step will enable us to actively tackle the current uncertainties and political challenges in the German market. As a medium-sized company, we are keen to make our contribution to the positive development of the German economy.”
New site covers over 100,000 square meters
The new site near the A3 Autobahn was occupied by the shoe manufacturer Birkenstock until a few years ago. Our company has now purchased the approximately 73,500-square meter property with approximately 21,500 square meters of built office space.
Additionally, Niedax acquired further adjacent properties. The total area of over 100,000 square meters corresponds to the production and storage area of Niedax at our worldwide largest production site in St. Katharinen.
Establishment of a customer competence center
Furthermore, we plan to establish a customer competence center on the technology campus. At this center, our company, together with other world-leading companies, aims to bring innovative data center products and solutions to life.
The new location should be fully equipped with the necessary infrastructure for the administrative and sales units for up to 450 employees by the beginning of the second half of 2025. Prospectively, the construction of a production site for fiberglass cable trays is planned on the newly acquired area.
Achim Hallerbach, head of the district authority of Neuwied, says:
“I am very pleased that the premises and property in Rahms have found a new regional owner in the Niedax Group. Together with our economic development organization and the local authorities, I was able to set the decisive course here so that the various interests could be bundled and successfully brought to a conclusion for the region. As a fast-growing, medium-sized company, Niedax will significantly strengthen the economic area of northern Rhineland-Palatinate in the short and long term with this investment and create many new jobs.”
Michael Christ (Mayor association of municipalities Asbach) and Thomas Junior (Mayor municipal Neustadt/Wied), agree:
“Our aim was to attract a reputable and economically strong company to settle here with the help of our municipal committees. We are happy and grateful that the Niedax Group has chosen Rahms and thus another location in the district of Neuwied."
