Niedax Group opens new Technology Campus and Experience Center “Synnoscape”

On February 2, 2026, the Niedax Group, one of the world's leading manufacturers of electrical installation solutions, officially opened its new Technology Campus in Neustadt/Wied-Rahms (Rhineland-Palatinate) and the associated Experience Center "Synnoscape". The family-owned company has thus created a central location where modern technologies for nationwide infrastructure projects can be experienced and planned holistically.

Innovation hub with prospects for the region

Infrastructure projects in Germany and Europe will be initiated and managed from the Rahms site in the future. Covering an area of over 100,000 square meters, the Niedax Technology Campus is designed as a long-term innovation hub. Here, infrastructure solutions are developed, tested, and further refined in collaboration with partners.

The “Synnoscape” Experience Center forms the heart of the technology campus, with the Niedax Group acting as its founder and initiator. Together with other leading companies, customers and political decision-makers are offered practical insights into the planning and implementation of modern infrastructure solutions.

Bruno Reufels, CEO of the Niedax Group, says: “With ‘Synnoscape’, we have created a place where modern infrastructure can be touched and experienced. Together with our partner companies, we combine high-quality, innovative solutions that are needed for a secure, resilient, and sustainable digital infrastructure. This bundled, interdisciplinary expertise is unique in Germany.”

Data centers and resilient fiber optic networks as core elements of digital infrastructure

The Niedax CEO highlights two major projects in particular, which the Niedax Group will manage from Rahms together with other partners: "In addition to setting up a resilient, high-performance fiber optic network along around 33,000 kilometers of railway track, we want to work with other companies to drive forward the development of small and medium-sized data centers as the heart and brain of the digital infrastructure. In the future, up to 500 jobs will be created at our technology campus."

Federal Chancellor Merz emphasizes economic policy relevance

The opening ceremony was conducted by the Chairman of the CDU Germany, Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Member of the Bundestag, together with Niedax CEO Bruno Reufels and Gordon Schnieder, CDU parliamentary group leader in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament, Member of the Landtag. The Federal Chancellor's visit underscores the economic significance of major infrastructure projects. On site, Friedrich Merz gained an insight into the technological approaches and strategic vision of the Niedax Group.

In his subsequent speech to over 200 guests from business, politics, and society, the Chancellor emphasized the importance of family-owned companies such as the Niedax Group for the innovative strength, resilience, and competitiveness of Germany as a business location.

The chairman of the CDU Germany, Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Member of the Bundestag, says: “The expansion of digital infrastructure in Germany is of enormous importance. Niedax is creating in a microcosm what we need to create on a national level in a macrocosm. Against this backdrop, the Niedax Group's plan to work with its partners to create a resilient, sustainable, and high-performance infrastructure network is of crucial importance.”

Infrastructure as an experiential overall system

The “Synnoscape” illustrates how technological innovation, economic performance, and geopolitical stability are interrelated. Modern fiber-optic networks, secure energy supplies, and high-performance data centers are considered prerequisites for competitiveness, security, and sustainable growth in Germany and Europe.

The topics range from renewable energies and fiber optic and network infrastructures to data centers, civil engineering and cable laying, security and emergency power systems, digital rail, and AI-supported technologies. Innovations are on display both in the Experience Center and on the outdoor grounds. In addition, a production facility for fiber optic cable ducts is planned for the adjacent area.

In several thematic areas, projections, audio elements, hardware, and interactive formats will illustrate how energy, data, and technology intertwine.

The partner companies of “Synnoscape” will occupy their own spaces in the Experience Center and contribute their respective expertise. This will create a network that does not view infrastructure in isolation, but rather as an integrated overall system.

The partner companies are:

  • Niedax Group (founder and initiator of the partner network, one of the world's leading manufacturers of cable management systems)
  • Netz 33 GmbH (Niedax subsidiary, planning and expansion of a nationwide resilient, high-performance, and homogeneous fiber optic backbone network)
